“Netart’s Bay No.2" Part of the Oregon Driftwood Series, the artist took close up photos of Driftwood at various beaches in Oregon. She then painted a collection of abstract works, each named after those locations that the photos were taken. In Nicolle’s painting, composition has always taken precedence. Working from photo provides a natural blueprint that achieves abstraction with compositional importance. Allowing for deeper explorations in color, texture, and impressionistic expression. Growing up in the Pacific NW in Port Townsend, WA she loved to explore the beaches and woods that surrounded her so in a sense this series is bringing her back to her roots.

Having played the drums since her childhood, Nicolle honed her chops playing in blues, cover, and symphonic bands, and music is a constant companion during her painting sessions.

How it’s Made
I painted this original image, I have prints made with a green printery then I take them into my studio to add paint to them. I love painting and hope that shows thru with every piece that goes out my door.
