This buckle is with Norwegian Moonstone and Dendritic Agate. I have formed this buckle in a beveled edge oval shape. This buckle measures 2 1/2" by 3 3/4" in length and is 3/8" in thickness. I have supported the stone with my handmade German Silver backing and the buckle will accept a belt up to 1 1/2" in width. Note that German Silver is not silver but an alloy comprised of nickle,brass and zinc. The reasons I use it is that it's stronger,less expensive and it doesn't tarnish as does silver.

How it’s Made
I have been making my buckles for approximately 45 years. I cut shape and polish all my pieces and fabricate my belt buckle backings using German silver or as it's also called nickle silver. German silver is not silver but an alloy comprised of nickle,brass, and zinc and I use it because it is stronger,less expensive and it doesn't tarnish as does silver. All my buckles take around 20 different steps to complete and the one's with silver insets take many more steps.
