About this Product
I have painted many, many dragonflys. I spent my childhood in Louisiana and there were plenty down there. Now I live in Va. and still see them just not as many. When I'm shopping I always look for ephemera with Bugs and birds and flowers. We have a tiny old greenhouse and they are always going in there to die. I know thats ODD but Bumble bee's do it too. Butterflys don't go in there.
Sue Furrow Fine Art
Meet the Maker
Sue is an artist living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of SW Virginia, Salem to be exact. She has painted most of her life and hopes to be painting when she passes. She has dabbled in all the mediums and currently enjoys collage. Preferring to stay indoors, since the heat has gotten so bad, in the autumn or spring she still enjoys plein aire painting.
How it’s Made
I usually start my ATC's on a large piece of watercolor paper, about 24x18. I glue a lot of gelli papers, printed papers and what ever else I like on the WC Paper. After it has dried I cut it up into 3.5 x 2.5 pieces.
Then I look at each one and make decisions about what colors to use and what subject matter would look best with those colors. Such as this one I thought the aqua colors reminded me of Dragonflys.
So that was my starting point. I use a lot of natures ephemera, like flowers, bugs, bees, trees, etc.
Hope you like my work and come back often.
