Opal Wire Wrapped Pendant Centered around a gorgeous Ethiopian opal, this piece takes the Kinetic Collection to new levels. The Ethiopian Opal is encircled by Blue Sapphire and Emerald in one of my most difficult settings to date. The signature element is the pair of swinging hinges set with Red and Pink Sapphires. The piece is designed to follow the gradation of the rainbow starting with a Tanzanite (Round Facet) and Sapphire (Pear Facet) crown culminating in the red sapphire at the bottom of the piece.

Opals are known to spark optimism, enthusiasm and creativity for those who wear them. They are incredibly unique because they encapsulate all the colors of the rainbow. Opals have always been shrouded in legend due to their miraculous luster. Arabic legends tell tales of how opals fell from the skies in bolts of lightning. While the ancient Greek’s believed they helped in divination and prophecy. Opal is October’s birthstone and is known for its association with the crown chakra.
Emerald is a stone shrouded in mystery and heavily sought after for its deep green, which is known to relieve stress and eye strain. Emerald has always been a magical stone that aids in prophecy and protect against evil incantations. It is known to aid its wearer’s inspiration and patience. Emerald is May's Birthstone and is deeply associated with the heart chakra.
Sapphire is one of the oldest gemstones in use, and is known as a symbol of nobility. Not only does it attract wealth, it protects its user's from envy and harm. Sapphire is a powerful stone that is said to bring balance and harmony even to adversaries. Sapphire is the birthstone of September. Tanzanite is one of the rarest gemstones on the planet only being found in the foothills of Mt Kilimanjaro.
Tanzanite was first discovered in the 1960’s and became an instant hit for its striking blue. Tanzanite is connected with transmutation due to its pleochroism, the ability for the stone to change color based on the axis or angle light shines through it. Tanzanite is the birthstone of December and is connected to the crown chakra. It has become a symbol of wisdom and spiritual mastery.

Meet the Maker
A full time jeweler since 2019; my obsessive pursuit creating intricate, stylish, and captivating pendants started in 2012. Now with over a decade of creating jewelry, my work has grown and transformed to become a fusion of traditional silver smithing and new age wire wrapping techniques. Each piece captures the beauty of rare and unique gemstones while complimenting their essence with fine metal work.
How it’s Made
I blend traditional silversmith technique with new age wire wrapping. From my soldering to wire wrapping, it is a hands-on artistically created work on art from start to finish. While AI and 3D printed are becoming normal and integrated, many pendant techniques are becoming mass produced, replicated, machine made, and simplistic. At JMJJewelryDesign, I'm a one person artist, who designs and creates every single pendant, so even if styles are similar, never will two pendants ever be identical. You'll know the authenticity of my work by its careful construction and human touch. I stamp all my pendants on the back as well so that you know your piece is an authentic JMJ pendant.
