About this Product

This sweet orange spiny oyster shell heart is set on a hand stamped sterling silver backplate and topped with a 4mm blue Kingman turquoise cabochon. Patina was added for depth and interest. It sits on a sterling silver adjustable band.
Right now, the band is sized at around 4. Let me know what size you want and I'll adjust it up to that size (up to around a size 12).

Please note that this is handmade item using natural materials and, as such, may contain minor imperfections. That's the beauty of not buying mass-produced jewelry, though -- you get a one-of-a-kind piece! The listing is for one necklace.

Your new jewel will be packaged in a muslin gift pouch and inside its own box. I include a silver polishing cloth with each sterling silver piece of jewelry so you can keep it as shiny and beautiful as the day it came home to you!

Enjoy!

Meet the Maker

Hi! I'm Wendy. Sterling silver and turquoise remind me of my childhood. I come from a cowboy family and my dad and maternal grandfather competed in rodeos all around the West. I loved the silver cowgirl jewelry that my mom, grandmothers, and aunts all wore and am darn lucky to have some of those vintage pieces in my personal collection.

As a jewelry designer, those memories infuse my own creations. You'll see a lot of turquoise pieces here at oaktownwendy, but I love working with all the stones that nature provides (and a few man-made ones, too). Sustainability is important to me and I strive to include recycled elements in many of my designs: recycling my own silver scraps into decorative embellishments; using broken china plates as well as surfite and fordite "stones" that are byproducts of other manufacturing processes; and turning well-loved cowboy belts into brand new cowgirl earrings and bracelets.

Come on in and look around!
