I love Dragon Flies! My family lived in Louisiana when I was small and I remember very well these beauties were every where. We have some in Virginia but not all the varieties I saw in LA. I made Gelli plate papers with DF's stamped all over them and I found 2 silver flies at JoAnn's. This is a subtle quiet piece just like the real D.Flies, soft greens. soft whites and soft silvers, iridescent touches everywhere. The frame is gold wood, I made it myself. I'm a trained framer so I make most of my own. I have a prof. saw and mat cutter.This piece is 18" tall and 10" wide. under glass. So I will need to put tape all over the glass and use extra bubble extra for it's journey to you. I do offer gift wrap and a card with your sentiments to send straight to your recipient, if you wish. No charge.

Meet the Maker
Sue is an artist living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of SW Virginia, Salem to be exact. She has painted most of her life and hopes to be painting when she passes. She has dabbled in all the mediums and currently enjoys collage. Preferring to stay indoors, since the heat has gotten so bad, in the autumn or spring she still enjoys plein aire painting.
How it’s Made
I use archival, light fast professional materials in all my work. Sometimes I use texture paste or heavy gel and stencils. Not in this piece but a lot of my work has gelli prints or old book pages for texture too.
I use golden or liquitex varnish to protect so you never have to worry about wiping dust or ketchup (LOL) off your purchase. Simply use a damp soft cloth and nothing else.
I would also suggest you cut the size (18"x10") out of a piece of paper so you can see the size where ever you want to place it, because the photos may not be to scale!
