Meet the Maker
My name is Shada, and I am a self-taught mixed-media disabled spoonie artist residing just outside of St. Louis, MO. I combine the real and the fantastic using animals and plants. My vibrant and intricate mixed-media artworks, which incorporate graphite and ink drawings with watercolor, colored pencils, and markers, are what I'm most well-known for.
While my artworks have been published in art magazines and exhibited in prestigious galleries, my true passion lies in connecting, encouraging, supporting, and befriending other artists. I believe in the power of community and strive to foster it both online and in my local community. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting your artistic journey.
How it’s Made
All of the black and white areas of the artwork were created using pen and graphite pencils, and the colorful flowers were made using watercolor paints. I then scanned the artwork and created a print from it.
