Peacock Repurposed Cigar Box.
I get my cigar boxes from a local cigar shop who takes donations for the boxes and used the funds to buy cigars to send to deployed military. I’ve been doing this for years and so honored to do so.
This box is layers of blues and gold. I decoupaged a peacock I purchased from DECOUPAGE QUEEN (I love her papers). I used air-dry clay to mold the magnolias and leaves. I also made the lace around the upper exterior with acrylic caulking.
i tried to make the box as antique and vintage looking as possible.
The interior is simple with DQ's peacock print decoupaged to the interior upper and the bottom is black. f
I added beads, hardware that I antiqued the hardware with waxes.
It is sealed with a varnish and I have a hidden halo somewhere on the box.
The box measures: 11x5"x7"x2.25"

Meet the Maker
I’ve been an artist for over 20 years. I’m from a large military family and I started repurposing cigar boxes from a local shop where all the donations for the boxes went to purchasing cigars for deployed military.
I love repurposing items of all kinds though so I don’t limit myself to the boxes.
Angels are my favorite item to create and there’s nothing better than putting on some relaxing music and letting my creativity flow. I’ve learned to trust my work and not think too hard because in my opinion thinking means you don’t wanna make a mistake and there are no mistakes in art. I also thank God every day for my ability to create.
