Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.
How it’s Made
Each wine or juice cup is hand-built from stoneware clay using slab construction. The dotted texture is created by pressing a patterned roller into the clay while it’s still soft, adding a tactile and visual layer of charm. A round medallion is then applied—each one featuring a unique image and handwritten script, transferred onto the clay using a ceramic decal technique.
After the piece is assembled, it’s dried completely and bisque fired. A soft white glaze is then applied, enhancing the texture without obscuring the intricate detail of the design. Finally, it’s glaze fired at 2300°F for strength and daily durability.
Dishwasher and microwave safe—because beauty should be practical, too.
