Notes & recommendations about ENGRAVED BUCKLES
Engraved metal buckles in 1.5", 1", 3/4", or 5/8" to fit any size pet. Engraving is deeply cut into the metal for a long-lasting, durable finish, NOT just laser etched into the top finish like most personalized buckles. Black powder coated buckles have a glossy black finish that contrasts beautifully with engraving (letters show up silver). Available in all four widths. Silver buckles have a mirrored, polished surface.
Text is sized to use the maximum amount of space. Lines with fewer characters will be larger. Lines with many characters will be smaller. I STRONGLY suggest keeping your lines of text short (20 characters or less per line).
5/8" buckles look best with just 2 or 3 lines.
3/4" buckles look best with 3-4 lines or less.
1" buckles look best with 4 lines or less.
1.5" buckles look best with 6 lines or less.
INCLUDE YOUR FONT CHOICE WITH YOUR ORDER! If no font is specified with your order, I will choose for you.
Thin, simple fonts work best with long lines of text. Avoid choosing blocky, bold, or script fonts if you need a lot of information on your buckle.
These are my professional recommendations - ultimately I will engrave what you type in the note box, so please be sure to CHECK YOUR SPELLING and avoid writing a novel :)

Out of necessity; into passion.
Hi, I'm Diana. I started this business in 2009, but in 2020, my husband quit his 9-5 to come work with me. So going forward, I'll use "we" instead of "I/me", but rest assured we are the real deal - no factories, no employees; it's just the two of us <3
Like so many small businesses, Fox Valley Pet Wear started at the kitchen table. It then took over an office, and then a second spare room, and then the garage, too! What started as a custom collar for our Italian greyhound turned into a full-time passion serving customers and their pets from around the world! We do our best to support other small businesses - many of our materials are purchased from other small businesses and we hire a local machine shop to manufacture our metal thingamajigs.
QUALITY
We've put over a decade of development and improvement into the products you see in our shop. We are continually improving, and we hope that is evident in our photos and of course our products themselves. â–º Notice our stitching - double rows of extra-strong zigzag stitches where it matters most.
â–º Notice our hardware - we refuse to use "economy" grade hardware - they are cheap for a reason! We wouldn't trust cheap parts on our pets' collars, so we won't use them on your pet's collars!
â–º Our webbing is soft, bright, washable, and best of all, made right here in the USA! Above all else, we are animal lovers and pet guardians.
We share or have shared our home with dogs, cats, rabbits, chinchillas, fish, a toad, a gecko, chickens, and have had our fair share of fosters, too! We understand the passion for our pets, just like you, and we strive to keep meeting the needs of the modern pet guardians.

How it’s Made
Every order is made after you click "buy". Our webbing is all made in the USA! Our hardware is sourced internationally, but we are continuously looking for domestic sources for any parts we can get. Making pieces one at a time is a little slower than doing large batches, but it allows us to offer an insane number of colors, sizes, patterns, and in nearly any combination. We pack and ship everything from our central Wisconsin shop, 7 days a week!
Shop Policies
We accept returns, exchanges, and cancellations
Contact us within: 5 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 14 days of delivery
Request a cancellation within: 1 hour - we cannot guarantee cancellations on personalized items - contact us right away and we'll do our best to accommodate. Cancellation of orders over $100 will be refunded less a 5% payment processing fee. Our payment processors retain these fees even if an order is refunded to the buyer.
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, we can't accept returns for:
Customized or personalized orders
Fi-Compatible BIOTHANE collars
Digital downloads
REFUNDS & EXCHANGES
RETURNS REQUIRE PRIOR AUTHORIZATION. You must contact us PRIOR to returning an item. Items shipped back without prior authorization will be considered forfeited and subject to resale or disposal without notice or refund.
Rarely, returns of certain items may incur up to a 25% restocking fee.
Custom sizes, personalized items, or sale/clearance items may not be eligible for return or may be subject to the restocking fee mentioned above.
ALL HARNESSES will incur a 25% restocking fee upon return. Restock fees will be waived on harness exchanges.
ALL FI-COMPATIBLE webbing collars will incur a 10% restocking fee upon return. Restock fees will be waived on Fi-collar exchanges.
No Refunds or Exchanges on FI-COMPATIBLE BIOTHANE collars. All sales are final on these items, even non-customized or personalized collars.
Any refunds given EXCLUDE original shipping & handling costs. Orders which qualified for free shipping will be refunded minus actual shipping & handling costs.
Returns must be received within 14 days of delivery* to be eligible for refund or exchange. *Delivery date will be determined by the USPS timestamp of delivery to the address on the order.
If we sent the wrong item, we will work to correct the mistake promptly. This may include issuing a pre-paid return label so that you can return the incorrect item to us while we re-ship the correct item.
Exchanges are simplified by issuing refunds so the customer may place a new order. Many customers prefer to place a new order immediately so that we can begin making their items while awaiting their returned item.
Refunds are processed once returned items are received at our shop, inspected, and approved. You should receive an e-mail notification of your refund. It may take 3-5 business days for funds to appear on your account/statement. This is fully dependent upon your financial institution, contact them with questions or concerns.
Returned items must be in new, unused, resalable condition to be eligible for refund, partial or full. Any loss in value on a returned item will be deducted from the return amount.
WARRANTY
We guarantee all of our items for a period of 60 days from purchase for hardware defects or craftsmanship defects only. Wear and tear is excluded from this warranty. If you experience breakage as a result of a hardware or craftsmanship defect within the 60 days warranty period, you may return the item to us for repair or replacement at no extra cost. Buyer pays return shipping of the defective item, we will cover shipping costs of the new or repaired item. Replacement is at seller's discretion only. Replacement items must be of equal or lesser value of original item, else buyer will be responsible for the difference in cost.No product for dogs is indestructible; wear and tear is normal and will not be considered a defect.
EXCEPTIONS
All Warranties will be considered NULL and VOID if the item has been modified, repaired, or otherwise tampered with by anyone other than Fox Valley Pet Wear.
AFTER THE WARRANTY
If more than 60 days has passed and a piece of your gear is damaged, we can often repair it for a low, reasonable fee. Contact us with any issues.
ORDER CHANGES
Your order may be started immediately upon order receipt (especially engraved items). Cancellation may not be possible, but please contact us ASAP if you need to request a cancellation or change to your order, we will be happy to make changes to orders that have not been started.
ORDER INFORMATION AND QUESTIONS
If we have questions about your order, which is common, we will contact you through the email you provided. PLEASE PROVIDE A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS. Remember to check your email (and spam folder) if you are waiting on an order from us. We do not have a business phone line so we appreciate your willingness to correspond through e-mail only.
Orders are subject to cancellation at any time if information is missing from an order and the buyer has failed to reply to messages/emails.
OTHER
Please understand, each item is hand-made so no two will be exactly alike. No product for dogs is indestructible, and pet gear will show wear after extended use, rough play/handling, and/or certain environmental influences out of our control. Normal wear and tear will not be considered a defect.
Please remember we are not Walmart or Amazon, we are a small family-owned business. We make every attempt to handle returns, warranties, and order changes fairly and reasonably. We hope our customers will do the same.
Pet owners are responsible for their pets and the gear used. Always inspect items carefully and discontinue use if they show wear or breakage. Fox Valley Pet Wear will not be responsible for injuries or misuse of our products. Use good judgment and common sense with the safety of your pet in mind at all times.
