Engraving an emblem into a wine bottle using the laser is a meticulous process that transforms an ordinary bottle into a personalized masterpiece. The process begins when I edit a digital design of the emblem using with the customers personalized instructions, and convert the design into an SVG file ensuring the design is vectorized for precision. Before starting the engraving, the wine bottle must be thoroughly cleaned to remove any dust or oils, providing a smooth and clean surface for the engraving.
Next, I configure laser settings and calibrate it, which involves setting the correct focus and positioning. The wine bottle is then placed securely on rotary tool in the machine’s engraving area. The digital emblem design is transferred to the laser software, and the size and position of the design are adjusted to fit the desired area on the bottle. Laser parameters such as power, speed, and resolution are set based on the type of glass and the intricacy of the design.
Once everything is set up, the engraving process begins. I use a precise laser beam to etch the design onto the glass surface, removing a thin layer of glass to create a permanent and detailed engraving. After the engraving is complete, the bottle is carefully removed from the machine and the engraved area is cleaned with a soft cloth to remove any residue or glass dust. The engraved emblem is inspected for quality and accuracy, and any necessary touch-ups are made if needed.
