Coordinating Pine Needle Basket Kit - Theme: "Time for Coffee & Coiling" in Retro Style
Includes everything you'll need: Basket Center, Pine Needles (dyed & natural), Thread (choose), 14 Matching Beads, 4" Osborne Needle, 2 Coiling Gauges. See photos.
CENTER:
I really enjoyed crafting this basket center. It features real coffee beans scattered around a wood-mounted, vintage sign that will remind you it's "Time for Coffee and Coiling". The wood-mounted burlap image makes a perfect background for this retro themed center.
Reverse side is stained, smooth sanded and sealed wood.
CENTER SIZE:
Size: 4 1/8", Set in epoxy resin with holes drilled for stitching.
PINE NEEDLES:
1 bundle dyed long leafs, color: "coffee bean" (14" avg)
1 bundle natural long leaf needles (14" avg)
CHOICE of COORDINATING THREAD COLORS:
Waxed Thread in NATURAL, BEIGE or MAHOGANY (2oz spool)
Imitation Sinew in NATURAL or DK BROWN (4 oz spool)
Colors chosen to coordinate.
ACCESSORIES:
Matching coffee-colored wood beads
4" long Osborne needle
2 copper coiling gauges (1/4" & 3/8")

Meet the Maker
Hello from Florida. I'm Barb Nelson, owner/operator of Pine Needle Basket Supplies, aka Artgal's Studio. You may have seen me on Etsy or Facebook.
A Florida resident since 1974, I attended the Art Institute of Ft Lauderdale and hold degrees in Advertising Design and Fashion Illustration. I spent most of my career as Senior Art Director for the S.E. Regional Division of Belk Dept Stores where I designed and produced catalogs and directed photo shoots. Later, I worked as Creative Director for a national outdoor advertising company.
In recent years I discovered pine needle basketry. I now enjoy teaching others at venues throughout the southeast.
In 2007 I began selling dyed and natural Florida long leaf pine needles online and at craft shows. This naturally evolved into making other supplies and accessories for basketry and gourd art.
