I'm a children's book illustrator living in rural Mississippi on a little lake with my husband, our two teens, four cats, and a dog. We love spending time outdoors, kayaking, and playing disc golf.

How it’s Made
My Process for Refurbishing Jewelry Boxes
1. Finding the Perfect Box: I search for sturdy, solid wood boxes with unique features, ready to be transformed.
2. Assessment and Repairs: I inspect the box, making minor repairs to ensure durability and functionality.
3. Cleaning and Preparation: Old fabric and liners are removed, surfaces are cleaned and sanded to create a smooth canvas.
4. Creative Transformation:
Paint: The exterior is painted in fresh, vibrant colors.
Fabric: New, fun fabric is added to the interior.
Decor: Decoupage paper and other decorative elements are applied.
Hardware and Details: Knobs and handles are painted and adorned with gemstones, and wire grates replace glass panels for earring storage.
6. Final Touches and Assembly: The box is reassembled, ensuring everything fits and functions perfectly.
