After my crisis counselor shifts, I always looked for ways to decompress after my shifts. I found fluid art painting through YouTube and it brought a sense of ease and calm so I could fall asleep. I started dabbling in this art last summer and it has been so fulfilling and joyful, such a release. Friends and family know how important mental health awareness is to me and I wanted to share that through my art. If I can bring joy and peace to anyone with this art that playfully flows across the canvas, that fills my soul.

My flip cup painting is an abstract representation of the Polysexual Pride flag, brought to life through a fluid acrylic pouring technique. I began by layering the vibrant colors of the flag—pink, blue, and green—into a cup. With a swift flip, the paint was released onto the canvas, where it flowed and mingled, creating organic swirls and blends that mirror the fluidity of polysexual identity. The paint’s movement across the canvas resulted in dynamic and unpredictable patterns, symbolizing the diverse and multifaceted nature of attraction.
