The Peacock Lady
Meet the Maker
Greetings from Middle Tennessee! My name is Patty and I would love to share my handcrafted art jewelry and accessories with you. I started making jewelry in 1999 when I realized I wanted something "different” and I couldn’t find what I wanted in the stores. I wanted to wear art - items no one else had. I call my style "classy eclectic" - looking good, while being a little different.
Why the name “The Peacock Lady”? Because I am obsessed with peacocks! When I was little, my grandmother had a big turquoise “fancy” vase that had a big plume of peacock feathers and I was hooked! A friend once told me, “I can’t see a peacock feather without thinking immediately of you!” - so, I’m The Peacock Lady!! (And by the way, I inherited that big “fancy” vase and it has been displayed in my house ever since!)
Thanks for checking out my shop and supporting the artists and goimagine!
How it’s Made
I started these earrings by rolling and conditioning my white polymer clay. Then I cut the shapes out, cleaned up the edges, and cured them. After curing, I sanded the sides, applied the image to the front, painted the sides with silver paint, and then resined the top for a glass-like shine. I then turned the back over and added a jump ring and resined the back with a rose gold glitter that I feel adds some sparkle to the earrings. After curing this coat of resin, I added the earring to a stainless steel ball post earring.
