About this Product
This 6 inch tall ceramic vase is beautifully covered in a mosaic-like pattern rich in colors of rust, varied shades of blue with highlights of yellow. It is created by applying slices of polymer clay canes directly onto the vase before baking. It has a rustic, earthy quality that will blend well with many decorating styles.

Meet the Maker
Our shop offer creations from one very separate medium. This shop focuses on the polymer clay art created by Elaine Price. She has been working in PC for over 10 years and loves the endless possibilities the medium offers, from jewelry to wall decor to functional yet beautiful pieces like bowls, vases and bottles.
Michelle Stark is Native American and has been beading for over 25 years. She works both on and off loom to create amazing jewelry, as well as accessories such as belts, hatbands, keychains and much more., which are available through our other venues.
Both Elaine and Michelle have grown up sons and currently also have Tucker,, a very dignified older gentleman Lab mix and Cisco, otherwise known as Outlaw Cisco Jack, rescue puppy who now has a very happy home, as well as Bebop the blue and white parakeet.

How it’s Made
This ceramic vase is covered completely with small squares of polymer clay “canes”. The clay is formed by hand into patterns using various colors . These patterns are put together in a log, or cane. When slices are taken from this cane, each slice will have the same pattern all the way through the cane. Each slice is then applied to the vessel one at a time by hand. The surface is smoothed, or burnished, with a small piece of paper, but I leave enough texture to ensure a handcrafted look and feel. Several different clay canes were used in this piece. The piece is then baked in an oven. Once baked, it is ready for use!
