Just a quick story-to entertain you. If you prefer, just scroll down and read about THIS crowsie, not THAT crowsie ;-) Many years ago, before I had a go at designing my own patterns, I made crows that were designed by a different fabric artist. They were totally adorable! I came across a pile of old doorknobs-lucky me! On of them was painted ORANGE. Bright ORANGE, which has never, never ever been a favorite color of mine. BUT...'twas the season of changing leaves and apple cider and hayrides. And PUMPKINS!!!! And pumpkins are ORANGE. Bright ORANGE. I seldom keep any of the things I make "for myself" but I still have that little crow on the pumpkin orange doorknob. Once I get all my fall listings caught up this year, he'll be making a cameo appearance on my YouTube channel. I still love him after all these years.
I've fashioned a primitive crow from muslin, then used a multi-day, multi-step process- to age, color with black gel stain-TWICE, sand and age him again. Featuring a needle sculpted a beak and tiny button eye, he is finished with a luscious primitive polymer clay sunflower that I've layered from the background sunny gold to the middle rich brown and embellished with a black faceted glass bead in the center. Sweet rustic corvid (NOT Covid, mind you) is securely fastened to a vintage metal doorknob, which I've thoroughly cleaned and painted with layers of ORANGE chalk paint, then given a chippy distressed and timeworn finish, and a matte sealer. A wrap of cream and green homespun and matching bow with an extra bow of jute twine with hand painted beads are the finishing touches to the charming VMB ORIGINAL project.
Measuring approx. 5”T X 4.5”W (+/- 1/2"), it will make a delicious addition to your farmhouse home decor, as part of a tiered tray gathering, or sitting on a cupboard shelf. Snuggle him into a gathering of fall leaves or display him on your mantel with a few acorns scattered about. Add it next to a primitive gathering of sunflowers in a mason jar, or beside a basket of snacks. He is sure to please wherever your muse suggests!
Please note that this knob is handcrafted and will be materially identical to the one shown (i.e. crow, posey flower, vintage metal knob), but with the idiosyncrasies inherent in handmade items.
All of my items are available across multiple platforms and are sold first come, first served. Please consider that this is created from vintage materials, so supplies are limited-if you love this one, best to make your purchase when you see it to avoid disappointment!
Fabric/quilts/trimmings with an indication of "vintage" or "antique" are NOT new; therefore, they may have wear, uneven color, small holes, and other age-appropriate imperfections. I make every effort to use the best parts of any fabrics, but they are seldom pristine. All of my fabric items are sewn completely around and a slot is cut into the back piece, which is NEW fabric, for turning and stuffing. When you see a hand stitched seam on the back, it is deliberate, not a flaw. By creating my pieces this way, I can achieve better more accurate shapes than I would by hand sewing shut a curve or corner. ~B~

Returns and exchanges
We accept returns for 14 days for exchange or refund.
Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and any loss in value if an item isn't returned in original condition and in original packaging.
Custom and personalized orders
I am currently unable to accept custom orders.

Sizes are listed in item description and are approximate (as accurately as I am able to measure them).
Gift wrapping and packaging

Wholesale availability
We are not able to accept wholesale orders.
Shipping
We currently only ship to the United States.
I am NOT responsible for damages/theft etc. to uninsured packages regardless of reason. If your order is above the amount covered by the USPS,
we will automatically add the additional insurance required at the BUYER'S expense so that we are both protected in case of loss. I ship EVERY item with tracking,
and will message you the tracking number once your order ships. If a package seems "lost" I will be happy to assist you in locating it, but the USPS requires a 30-day wait
before an insurance claim can be filed (if your package is insured).
Customer is responsible for providing correct shipping address. I will only ship to the address you provide on your order.
Can We Hold Orders to Ship at a Later Date?
No. We ship our items quickly and cannot be responsible for keeping track of orders beyond the date on the original invoice.
We have thousands of items plus supplies to monitor and would feel terrible if something got lost in the shuffle.
