Meet the Maker
Hi, I'm Beth, and I like to create primitive 4-inch mini pillows for home decor. You can find pillows for every season of the year for your own home decoration or for gift giving.
How it’s Made
I create one-of-a-kind pillows that are made to order. I start by choosing a design and after it is stitched, I choose a piece of cotton or denim fabric for the back. I stitch the two pieces together with a sewing machine, then stain them and add color to the design using a watercolor effect. To give the pillow an aged look, I scrub it to make worn places, then roughly stitch it to close up the big spaces. I then stuff the pillow and stitch it closed. Finally, I coat it with stiffener and then. I place it in the sun to dry in the summertime, or over a heating vent in the wintertime. Each pillow has its own unique style because they each turn out differently.
