About this Product

I've carefully handcrafted this cheerful sunflower from a vintage mustardy gold 100% wool blanket with a middle of antique 1800's brown calico fabric. Glass beads sewn around the middle of the flower serve as an impression of delicious seeds, and everything is combined by layering all of the pieces to create a charming quilted impression. The sunny is secured to a vintage metal doorknob that I've painted with green chalk paint, then distressed and sealed. The stem of the knob is wrapped with green and cream homespun and finished with a matching bow that lends a sense of leaves to the project. Measuring approx. 4.5”T X 3.5”W (+/- 1"), it will make a delicious addition to your farmhouse home decor, as part of a tiered tray gathering, or tucked into a cupboard. You can see how well it combines with some of my other designs in my summer collection of bees and sunnies-and when you combine two or a few more into a single purchase, I am happy to refund any shipping overages you've paid. This design is perfect for your own summer stylings, whether you are creating the ultimate country homestead, a colonial primitive kitchen, or a shabby French chic farmhouse! Add one into a tiered tray, or tuck into gathering of fruit, either fresh or faux. Place one upon a magazine in your sunroom or your entryway. Your friends just might want too, so you could grab a couple of them for gifting, or you could just get one and let them be jealous of your good fortune, lol!

All of my items are available across multiple platforms and are sold first come, first served. Please consider that these are created from ANTIQUE/Vintage materials, so I cannot just order more fabric from the quilt shop or a catalog-when the amount I have on hand runs out, it is GONE! If you love this item, best to make your purchase when you see it to avoid disappointment!

Fabric/quilts/trimmings with an indication of "vintage" or "antique" are NOT new; therefore, they may have wear, uneven color, small holes, and other age-appropriate imperfections. I make every effort to use the best parts of any fabrics, but they are seldom pristine. All of my fabric items are sewn completely around and a slot is cut into the backing piece, which is NEW fabric, for turning and stuffing. When you see a hand stitched seam on the back, it is deliberate, not a flaw. By creating my pieces this way, I can achieve better more accurate shapes than I would by hand sewing shut a curve or corner. ~B~

October 28, 2024: As promised, I'm back from my adventures as a craft show vendor this past weekend with a few new goodies to add over the course of this week, with more on the way as I get them finished. The weather here is somewhat less than warm and cozy, but I'll be doing my best to get good pictures for you as quickly as possible. (I do my photography outside since the high peaks of my vintage roof and the stunning antique gold hammered glass windows of this old church I call home are not good helpers for great indoor lighting!)
