Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.
How it’s Made
Each luminary is hand-built from clay slabs, shaped into a ghostly figure, and given its own personality. The little pumpkin is sculpted separately and attached before firing. After drying, the piece is bisque-fired, then coated in layered glazes: lavender for the body, a glossy black for the witch hat, and a pumpkin-orange with carved detail. It’s fired again at 2300°F, making it sturdy, functional, and ready to light up your home year after year.
