About this Product

This bracelet is titled "Night Sky". It was inspired by VanGogh's "Starry Night". It is a kumihimo beaded bracelet, entirely handmade.

Kumihimo is an ancient Japanese art form in which the woven braid is created on a unique loom, each bead woven in one at a time.

The glass delica beads are a beautiful combination of purple and matte silver color and represent stars in the night sky. The bracelet features a hand carved sterling silver toggle clasp and end caps, with a design that brings VanGogh's painting to mind.

The silver has an oxidized and polished finish. This is a one of a kind artisan piece. It is marked with my maker's marks. It also has a mark for sterling.

It measures about 8 1/4 inches long (21cm) and about 3/8 inch thick (10mm). This bracelet is best suited for a medium/large wrist. My wrist measures about 6 1/2 inches with a tape measure and it fits me loosely. (see photo).

Meet the Maker

I am a craftsperson making artfully hand-carved sterling silver jewelry. I make jewelry for art lovers. My work is modern, free-spirited and uncommon. When you purchase a piece from me, you are getting a special treasure to enjoy for years to come.

My background as a graphic designer influences everything I create. Carving, line, shape and texture are always at the forefront. Each piece is individually hand carved, imparting a richness of pattern and texture. Because of the nature of hand-carving, my jewelry has a special uniqueness-- no two pieces will ever be exactly alike!

Some fun facts: I started designing and making silver jewelry in 2008, and began selling my work in 2009. I have made over 3000 pieces since then! I'm a Rio Grande certified artisan in metal clay and have achieved level one of the Metal Clay Masters Registry (https://metalclaynow.com/index.php/gallery/masters-registry). I'm also a graduate of Paier School of Art and have worked all my life as a designer. My jewelry collections have been represented in shops and galleries across the United States.

My studio practices are eco-friendly. I use non-toxic and recycled materials whenever possible. I care about our earth and the health of all beings.

Pieces are offered in solid sterling silver or sterling silver accented with a pure, 22 karat gold overlay that is hand-applied.

My work has been featured in Art Jewelry Magazine, Arts and Crafts Homes Magazine, Professional Artist Magazine, Metal Clay Artist Magazine, and the books Behind the Brooch and The Upcyclers USA - 21 Eco Folks.

How it’s Made

It is a kumihimo beaded bracelet, entirely handmade. Kumihimo is an ancient Japanese art form in which the woven braid is created on a unique loom, each bead woven in one at a time. The beads are glass delica.

The toggle is also handcrafted by me, of sterling silver that I carved with a VanGogh inspired design that I created. The silver is then oxidized with a black patina and polished by hand. This patina enhances the detail of the carving.
