Queen of the May is back again for spring! Inspired by the tradition of crowning the queen of the May Day festivals. The May Queen was, and still is, as some places still hold May Day festivals, seen as the personification of springtime. Mary, mother of Jesus, is also viewed and celebrated as Queen of the May, and this tradition sees her image or statue crowned with flowers.
Queen of the May is scented with very light florals, soft hints of mint and new garden greens, with background notes of white musk and sandalwood. Dried flowers include cornflower, calendula, jasmine, lavender, rose, and violets.
