Meet the Maker
Welcome to Torres Handmade! I am a passionate designer and maker with a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Handbags have been the primary focus for many years, and my deep love for craftsmanship is rooted in my childhood. Growing up surrounded by creativity and talent, I was fortunate to be raised by an artist father, a seamstress mother, and a shoemaker grandfather, and a grandmother who was a quilter, all of whom exposed me to the beauty of handmade items and crafts from an early age.
With over a decade of experience (but not brave enough to sell to the masses), I am now creating each piece with a careful eye for detail, blending style and sustainability. All handmade creations are from my studio in New York City, and my designs reflect a timeless commitment to quality and artistry, while the use of eco-friendly materials showcases my dedication to making beautiful and affordable products. These products include wallets, pouches, wristlets, totes and purses.
My style is more minimalist but elegant. Materials such as waxed canvas, vegetable leather, cork fabric, vinyls, and cloth are sourced in the United States.

How it’s Made
Each quilted makeup bag is crafted by hand—from first cut to final stitch—making every piece a unique labor of love. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at how your bag comes to life:
Selecting the Fabrics: It all begins with choosing beautiful, high-quality cotton quilting fabrics. Whether it’s soft florals, bold geometrics, or calming neutrals, we carefully coordinate prints and colors to create a design that feels both timeless and fresh.
Cutting the Pieces: Fabric is precisely cut into panels for the exterior, lining, and batting (the soft, cushioning layer in between).
Layering & Quilting: We layer the fabric: top fabric, batting, and lining, just like a mini quilt. Then, we quilt the layers together—either by hand or sewing machine—using straight-line or decorative stitching. This not only adds texture but also strengthens the bag.
Assembling the Bag: Once quilted, the panels are trimmed and sewn into a pouch shape. At this stage, we reinforced corners for extra structure.
Zipper Installation: A high-quality zipper is stitched in by machine, ensuring smooth use and long-lasting durability. Sometimes, we add a fabric zipper pull for a soft finishing touch.
Finishing Touches: The seams are carefully bound or finished for a clean, professional look inside and out. Each bag is then pressed, checked for quality, and packaged with care.

1. Product Quality & Materials Each item is crafted using high-quality materials such as leather, cork, waxed canvas, and fabric. Due to the nature of these materials, there may be slight variations in texture and color, making each piece unique. I take great care in selecting the best materials for durability and aesthetics, ensuring that your item is both beautiful and functional.
2. Custom Orders Custom orders are welcome! If you have a specific design or color in mind, please reach out to me. I will work with you to create a piece that meets your needs. Custom orders may take extra time to complete, and I will provide an estimated time frame upon confirmation of the design.
3. Order Processing Time Processing times vary based on the complexity of the product and the number of orders in the queue, but typically, orders are processed within 2-3 business days. I will notify you if there are any unexpected delays.
4. Care Instructions To ensure the longevity of your item, I recommend following these care guidelines:
Leather: Keep away from excessive moisture. Wipe clean with a soft cloth and use a leather conditioner occasionally to maintain its softness and shine.
Cork & Waxed Canvas: Clean with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking or scrubbing the material to preserve its integrity. Do not iron it.
Fabric: Spot clean or machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water. Air dry to prevent shrinking.
5. Returns & Exchanges As all products are handmade and sometimes made to order, I do not accept returns or exchanges. However, I want you to be completely happy with your purchase. If you have any issues with your order, please reach out within 7 days of receiving it, and I will do my best to resolve any concerns. Please note that custom orders are non-returnable.

1. Shipping Locations We currently ship only within the United States. If you are located outside of these areas and would like to place an order, please contact me to discuss shipping options.

3. Processing Time Orders are typically processed within 2-3 business days. During peak seasons or times of high volume, processing times may increase slightly, but I will communicate any delays as soon as possible.
4. Shipping Methods We use USPS, FedEx, UPS to ship orders. The method of shipping depends on your location and the size of the order. Tracking numbers will be provided once your item has been shipped, and you can use it to track the progress of your package.
5. Shipping Delays & Lost Packages While we do our best to ensure timely delivery, we are not responsible for shipping delays caused by the carrier. Once the package is with the carrier, delivery times are beyond our control. If your package is lost or significantly delayed, please contact us, and we will assist you in filing a claim with the carrier if necessary.
