Meet the Maker
I create durable one of a kind crocheted rag rugs by up-cycling clean vintage fabrics that may be machine washed. Rag rugs are my creative passion. I take the time to do my very best work with each and every one, paying close attention to detail because I like all transactions to be honest and fair whether I am buying or selling. Trying to do my small part in not adding more fabrics to our earths landfills and oceans. I work with 100% reclaimed, recycle cotton/poly blend fabrics that are available to me in my area of southern Missouri. This is one of the creative skills that has been passed down from generation to generation.
How it’s Made
I hand cut cleaned fabric strips of cotton poly and recycle into a cute fish shaped rug. I do not use patterns, I wing it as I crochet, therefore no two rugs will be identical. Strips are hand folded with raw edges folded inward. I am trying to do my part in reducing waste that gets dumped into oceans and landfills by giving a longer life to the fabrics. These type of rugs are very durable. A rug gripper may be needed for some smooth floor types.
