About this Product

Dainty handmade lace choker is made in a butterfly motif.  The "hippie" days come back with this boho style choker made in a variegated thread that includes green, orange, yellow, purple, pink and turquoise for a fiesta of color!   The butterfly design is about .75 inch wide and 11.5 inches long.  A 3.5 inch extender chain gives a full length of 15 inches when you choose the 12-15 inch option. Choose from one of 3 length ranges or message me if you need a custom length that is not in the dropdown menu.

You can make your choker metal free by requesting a cord or ribbon tie instead of the standard chain and lobster clasp closure.

The tatting method used to make the choker is a time honored lacemaking art.  Bring back a little piece of the past with this choker!

Can be made in any of my available colors as shown in the photos. Just message me with the number of the color you want if it is other than this listing.

Yellow Rose Lace

Rowlett, TX
Yellow Rose Lace takes you back to a simpler time when jewelry might be made from a bit of lace or ribbon.  Think Victorian looks, Regency styles, even Louis XIV fashion.  The technique used to make this colorful, lightweight jewelry is called Tatting - or - Frivolite en Francais! It is a time-honored lacemaking method that many call a "lost art"! For unique, lightweight, fun to wear Earrings, Bracelets, Chokers and Necklaces, have a look at the offerings here. Some pieces are uniquely suited to formal occasions like Weddings or Proms while others are great for accenting your everyday wardrobe.

Meet the Maker

My name is Sylvia and I have been a maker of many things for many years - starting with fabric and sewing as a pre-teen.  Somewhere along the line, I learned about Tatting and thought I would like to learn how to do it someday.  I had no "in person" training, but I was determined to learn and by studying videos online - I did learn the method of needle tatting!  Since part of my "making" experience included jewelry making, it was a natural thing for me to lean toward making jewelry with Tatted work.

I love that Tatting is such an old, antiquey method, that it is truly handmade (as so many things are NOT these days).  I enjoy bringing back this piece of the past from simpler times, making it relevant today and introducing a new generation to lovely things from the past.  I feel that I am honoring people from my own past and maybe your past who taught us to use our hands to create as I bring Tatting to this time and place!

How it’s Made

Yellow Rose Lace jewelry is made with a technique called Tatting which is an old fashioned way of making lace- usually from cotton thread.  I use a series of solid and variegated threads which are shown in my photos. I also have gold metallic and silver metallic thread available. If you like a style but would like a different color, you can message me anytime with the color# that you want.  I am happy to do custom orders!

Shop Policies

Processing Time: Most small items like earrings and bracelets take 24 hours to create (unless they are ready to ship pieces).  Larger custom items may take slightly longer.  Shipping is with USPS and times may vary from 3-10 days depending on the time of year (holidays etc.)

Return Policy: Returns will be accepted on Ready to Ship items only if sizing does not work out for you.  Custom items cannot be returned, however, please contact me directly if there are any issues with your purchase and I will do my best to resolve.

Custom orders:  Custom orders are welcomed.  You can choose the color and pattern of your jewelry.  Chain styles can be chosen from my available supply for pendant necklaces AND several different earring findings are available also.

What is this jewelry made from?  Tatted pieces are made from cotton thread - solid and variegated colors are available in 40-50 variations.  I also have silver and gold metallic thread available.  In many cases, glass seed beads are used in the designs.  Metals used for chains and earrings are hypoallergenic.  Metal free jewelry is available by using ribbon or cord to fasten instead of metal findings and plastic earring findings are available at your request.

Different designs are different sizes which are noted in listings.  Variegated thread colors are set by the manufacturer.

How to care for Tatted Jewelry:  Tatted jewelry pieces are handmade lace and should be treated like lace - GENTLY.  Jewelry should be the last thing you put on - after all your makeup, hairspray, cologne.  Do not exercise, sleep, shower or swim in this jewelry.  All of my tatted pieces have a LIGHT coat of starch applied to help them keep their shape.  If a piece should get wet, you can reshape and dry on a flat surface.  Tatted jewelry should be stored flat if possible except for 3D items which should be boxed or hung for storage.
