About this Product
The "Extended Rainbow" ships FREE to anywhere in the US!
I don't know about you, but kits like this one are just the stuff all my yarn dreams are made of! There's truly no way to describe how breathtaking all 25 of these colors are, and when you combine them to make the perfect baby blanket, child-sized temperature blanket, or project for the rainbow baby or unicorn-lover in your life, I know you'll fall just as in-love with these gorgeous shades as I have! Did I mention this yarn is luxuriously soft and stretchy?
This kit is available in 25 mini skeins (0.81 oz and 53 yards each) or 25 small skeins (2.46 oz and 160 yards each). The mini skein pack is more than enough for the average baby blanket (in fact, you'd probably have enough left over to add a baby hat...wouldn't that be adorable?) The small skein pack is enough yarn for most temperature blankets, if you construct them in 3-4 degree increments to incorporate every color. Combine all of the colors into one large project, or make a variety of gifts for yourself or your loved ones...The possibilities are endless!

All of my plant-based yarns are dyed in my smoke-free, meticulously clean home, using professional grade fiber-reactive dyes. Colors are fixed via chemical reaction to provide long-lasting vibrancy and permanence.
These yarns are dyed in small (8-16 oz.) batches. Because of this, there will be slight color variations from one dye lot to the next. When using multiple skeins of the same color in your project, you are encouraged to alternate skeins every few rows.
This bamboo/cotton blend is lightweight, and luxuriously soft. It’s perfect for any project for baby, or for soft winter wearables of any kind. It’s a little on the ‘fuzzy’ side and does shed a bit while being knit or crocheted, but it holds up well to washing and should not shrink if handled according to the care instructions above. I would caution against using very dark colors in close proximity to very light colors as there could be some color bleed between light and dark, particularly if washing in warmer water.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my colors! Make someone's day bright today!
That's My Color Yarn Shop
Meet the Maker
In 2017, after a 30 year obsession with knitting and crochet, I finally set out to begin supplying myself with luxurious hand dyed vegan yarn in every color of the rainbow, and I decided to invite the rest of the world along for the ride! I dye my yarns in very small batches, ensuring every strand gets special attention and TLC. Every color in my store is named after a special, inspiring woman, and every color tells a unique story.
Shop Policies
Order Processing Time:
Unless you hear or read otherwise, you can expect your order to ship within 3-5 days of the date you purchased it. Please allow a total of 10-12 days for your yarn to arrive from the date you place your order.
Planning Your Project(s):
Every skein of yarn in my store is hand dyed by ME, Erica! Please note that dye lots are one of a kind... no two will be exactly the same. Because of this, I strongly recommend consulting the yarn requirements in your pattern or project instructions and adding an additional 5-10% to ensure you will have enough. If you run out, odds are, I will not have more from the same batch.
I am an incredibly approachable person... ask me anything and I'll either have a prompt answer or make one up that's sure to be entertaining! If you have an issue or question about your order, don't hesitate to contact me. I am here to help!
Returns & Exchanges
In the unlikely event your yarn order is not what you expected and you would like to return it, please contact me within 14 days of delivery so I can provide you with instructions. Any yarn returned will need to be in their original condition to receive a refund.
Frequently Asked Questions about my yarn and the process of dyeing and caring for it:
Can these yarns be washed and dried?
Please don't let your wears get stinky! :) Yes, my yarn is perfectly washable but do please follow the care instructions you will find on your labels. Darker colors may bleed slightly on the first few washes.
I highly encourage you to not combine very light colors with very dark colors, and it's rarely a good idea to wash hand dyed yarn in water any warmer than lukewarm. In most cases, it's best to lay your items flat to dry and avoid the harshness of the dryer or the tendency for things to snag your beautiful work!
What if the colors look different when I receive my package than they looked on my screen?
While I make every attempt to accurately depict colors with my photography, no two electronic devices are alike in the way the colors will appear to you when you're shopping. Please also refer to my "Streak Meter Rating" that I provide with every color to get a feel for how much color variation you will find in my semi solids. It's also an excellent idea to view a listing on 2 separate screens (1 mobile and 1 desktop, if possible) prior to ordering. If you love the color twice, you're likely to love it even more when you receive it!
That being said, if your yarn arrives and you aren't in love with the colors, contact me ASAP about sending it back for a refund. If it comes back in its original condition I'm happy to exchange it!
Will projects made with your cotton yarn shrink?
The short answer is, "not if washed according to the care instructions provided". This yarn should be washed in cool water and laid flat to dry. You might be interested to know, though, that the yarn is handled at very high temperatures for a brief period while dyeing and rinsing, so any minimal shrinkage that could happen has probably already occurred well before you're using the yarn in a project.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Most orders will ship in 3-5 business days, so please add that time frame to the time it takes the USPS (First Class for smaller orders and Priority Mail for larger ones) to deliver your package to you. This is typically anywhere from 3-5 days, so plan on roughly 10-12 days to receive your order from the date you purchased it. Obviously, shipping delays will be longer and more frequent around the holidays.
Occasionally, I will have everything you ordered on-hand to ship right away. If this is the case for your order, your items should ship in 1-2 business days but if I have yarn to dye-to-order for you, it will take longer. Please note that the drying time alone for indie-dyed fibers (especially my light worsted weight yarn) is 36-48 hours.
How different are your different dye lots?
This will vary from color to color but darker shades typically have more variation between dye lots than lighter colors.
Please be aware that I dye in VERY small batches, in order to give every strand of fiber the TLC it deserves and to ensure even distribution within each batch. At this time, I am only able to offer a max of 1,920 yards (32 oz) of the same dye lot in the DK/Light Worsted base, and 3,840 yards (32 oz) of the same dye lot in fingering/sock yarn.
If you are in need of more than the above yarn amounts of the same lot, I might be able to accommodate your request but I'm currently not dyeing in larger batches than that. If your project uses high amounts of the same color, I recommend alternating skeins every few rows.
Hand dyed yarn skeins are truly one-of-a-kind!
Why is hand dyed yarn more expensive than what my craft store carries?
In short, it's all the love!
Hand dyed fibers like mine are typically dyed in very small batches and given lots of special attention and handling. Every strand of yarn you'll find in my shop is in the care of my hands for no less than 3 hours. This ensures accurate and even color distribution and absorption, complete rinsing of excess dye and elimination of salt residue, and the time needed to beautifully wind, measure for length, and weigh every skein of yarn prior to packaging and shipping. You won't find any surprises like knots or splicing in my yarns, only beautiful color and predictable quality and softness.
