Hello, I'm Mary, the artist for TheWireWench.
"Wench" is an archaic term that refers to a girl or young woman, especially a buxom or lively one. A girl using wire to create beautiful jewelry, that is the thought behind the name. I used to be very lively, but through time I have slowed down a bit. I am now 74 years old and have cancer, but I am a survivor.
I have inoperable cataracts therefore I have impaired vision. This is truly a labor of love, for it takes it toll on my hands and eyes but there is a great feeling of accomplishment when the item is completed.
There is something special about things made by human hands that cannot be duplicated by machines. A little bit of the soul of the person who creates something becomes part of the object created. That is what is so unique and wonderful about handmade.
I have created artful jewelry for many years. I enjoy the time spent trying to create something that did not exist before my hands touched it. Each stone is wrapped with wire in a special way to enhance the stone. No two stones are every wrapped the same. Each piece is hand made and never duplicated, therefore each piece you purchase is "one of a kind" jewelry. Each piece is handcrafted and custom designed.

How it’s Made
In the mid-18th century, English speakers were calling the green film "patina", and by the 20th century, they'd expanded the word's application to surface appearances of things that have grown more beautiful with age or use or use. Today is effect is created by using liver of sulfur on copper of sterling silver to give this antiqued effect.
If you've ever worn copper long enough, you've probably had your skin turn green once or twice.
It's a process called oxidization and is completely normal and harmless. And it's what give antiqued copper and sterling silver its rustic charm.

Because no sealer is permanent the copper will continue to patina over time. If you would like to keep it the way it is, use a polishing cloth to clean it. Do not use any metal cleaner on it as it will remove all the patina and could damage the stone. For this reason, pendants should never be cleaned with a chemical cleaner as this could dissolve the sealer and you would be left with a dull looking stone. Do not wear while swimming or showering as the water will cause it to patina quicker and could also cause the copper to turn green. When not being worn, you should keep it in the zip bag with a anti-moisture tab. You can get them free, they are included in most grocery products.
All Shipping is FREE. It is included in the price. There is no shipping on Sunday or holidays.
Orders will take approximately 4 to 5 days to arrive. All packages are insured and tracking will be provided.
Since stones are made by nature, they may have some "natural" imperfections.
Cancellations are only accepted within 1 hour after purchase.
Returns are allowed, but only for 5 days from the day your item arrives. Ship items back within 7 days of delivery. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. Please send a message if you are returning an order with the reason it is being returned. Item(s) must be returned in their original condition and in original packaging.
Refunds will be issued after I've received your return.
All packages are insured. If your order arrives damaged, please contact me immediately. You will be required to send me photos of the damaged item so that I can open a claim with USPS. Tracking is provided with your order so you will know when your item is out for delivery. If your item is marked delivered, but you don't see it, contact your local post office. Sometimes an item is marked delivered a day or two before it is actually delivered. If the post office confirms that it did deliver the package at your address, then you will need to file a report with the local police. I am not responsible for their loss.
