About this Product

The green and red in Christmas can be most directly attributed to the holly plant, which has a place in the Winter Solstice celebrations that date back to Roman times and possibly even further back. These traditional colors of red, green and white in an intricate pattern are beautifully shown on this handblown glass ornament! Each side has a different pattern so it's like getting two ornaments! This ornament is approximately 2.5" in diameter with a glass loop for easy hanging.

Please note that all of our glass items are hand-crafted; as such, each piece may vary slightly in size, shape, color, and pattern, which adds to its beauty and uniqueness. No two pieces are exactly alike. Our ornaments look beautiful not only on your Christmas tree, but all year round in a sunny window, in your garden, etc. All of our pieces are hand-crafted using lampworking/glassblowing techniques. Children and adults alike will appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of our keepsakes.

Why is there a tiny hole in my ornament? All blown out (hollow) glass ornaments inherently have a small hole - otherwise, a vacuum seal would occur when the glass cools down and the ornament would collapse. We try to place the tiny hole in a discreet place.

Meet the Maker

Jason Thiemann is a second-generation professional artistic glassblower. He was born in Union City, California and currently resides in Stanwood, Washington, with his fiancé, Stephanie, and two Giant Schnauzers, Luna & Stella.

Jason’s artistic process began as a young child, when at age 10 he started learning the fundamentals of glassblowing from both his parents. His full-time career started at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas as a demonstration artist glassblower, where he was afforded the opportunity to work aside many world-renowned glassblowers, which gave him a broad perspective of techniques.

Since then, Jason has branched out on his own and has built his business with Stephanie by innovating and creating unique pieces of glass art, sculptures, chandeliers, wine glasses and stoppers, holiday ornaments, sun catchers, and sculptures. Since 2017, he's expanded to specialize in glass art memorials.

Jason: "I have had the pleasure of doing exactly what I love to do for the past 30 years. Every piece I create for you is important to me, as it is a reflection of my hard work, years of experience and your confidence in the quality of my craft. We have built strong trust relationships with our clients, giving them healing and gentle closure in a beautiful art form."

How it’s Made

All of Starry Night Glass Art’s products are made with high quality Borosilicate glass imported from Germany. Borosilicate is a type of glass with silica and boron trioxide as the main glass-forming constituents, making it more resistant to thermal shock than any other common glass. This also makes them more resilient to breakage. Borosilicate glass melts at a higher temperature than regular glass, about 1,650 °C (3,000 °F; 1,920 K). Jason is a second-generation glassblower with over 30 years’ experience – his unique and original creations are widely renowned and sought after.

Supportive and sensitive customer service, and a stunning glass tribute to my tortoise who passed far too soon. Jason provided frequent updates on the process which was well worth the wait. This sculpture is a delightful way to remember our pet and display the joy he had in his life, rather than just an urn or box.

StarryNight is my place next year hoping for another glass leopard pumpkin if available. I need another. It's beautiful it was a gift for my daughter who loves leopard print pattern. I looked high low everywhere, came back to Etsy found it here. Its means so much more to me & gifts I purchase, where its personal craft made with care & love. She'll probably be out year round at her home.Came wrapped with care, & fast after purchased.

This is beautiful and a really unique and way to memorialize my mom. I will say that I ordered this when I was grieving so maybe missed it, but I didn't know I had to ship the ashes before they could make it. I guess I was thinking there would be a place for me to put them into the already made glass ball. This made it a bit of a process but so well worth it in the end, and so much more special that this was custom made with the ashes included in the actual glass. It's very small and fits in my hand. Very beautiful piece, highly recommend.
