Meet the Maker

Do what you love...love what you do!

"The Glass Flower Cart" represents everything I love; simular to a Flower Cart Kiosk, beautiful items that are flower or garden related. My passion is mini glass flowers & bouquets as well as small sculptures including hummingbirds & butterflies, fish, etc. How can I have a bad day when I make beautiful glass garden art all day!

I am a 20+ year owner of a brick-and-mortar stained/art glass studio & bead store. Since 1997 I have been creating custom stained glass art from suncatchers to panels to large entryway and church windows. I closed the retail store in 2013 and worked for KOG (Kokomo Opalescent Glass) for a bit before returning to Lake of the Ozarks and focused my full-time attention back to my true love - torchwork.

I believe in providing professional service, quality and attention to detail!

I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase - if not, please contact me so I can make it right. Communication is key to success!

How it’s Made

  • Short information video: https://youtube.com/shorts/XS5IlCd_QVM?feature=share

    • I make these individually on my torch by heating a color glass rod into a ball between the size of a PEA to peanut M&M on the end of 22-gauge stainless steel wire, then press, squeeze, mush, pinch and pull into the desired shape; they go directly into a temperature-controlled kiln to properly anneal which hardens the glass. Although they look fragile, they are VERY tough!

    • Default wire is 22 gauge stainless steel wire (good for tarnish resistance and low-level allergy reaction). If you need longer wire, one option is to wrap them with floral tape to a longer wire or skewer. Take care manipulating the wire next to the glass.

    • As with any handmade items, irregularities occur naturally as each batch of glass rods vary, as well as each flower which adds to the beauty and character.

    • I do my best to represent the true size and colors. I photograph them on my studio workbench with LED lights mounted on my ceiling and use my Samsung tablet. I do not manipulate the photo except to crop or reduce the size. So far, the photos seem very true to the product colors, but may vary depending on your device.

Shop Policies

Orders over $50 include FREE shipping! Most all items are made to order. I'm approximately 2-3 weeks in making/shipping orders; plethora & larger orders will take a bit longer. Please allow extra time as USPS has been experiening delivery time delay issues.

Flower size and wire lengths

These are TINY flowers and range in size from 1/4" - 1/2". Most flowers are made with a variety of presses, so they are consistently very similar in size. Due to the press size I can't make them larger. I may occassionally offer larger "free form" flowers in limited quantities. The standard wire is 22 gauge stainless steel and 3, 4, or 5-inch in length. Longer wire will look out of proportion with the small flowerhead and it become very "bouncy" due to the length vs. wire size. If you need them taller, add sand or a piece of foam to the vase to lift the flowers up and be able to place them in the desired arrangement. You can also attach them to longer/thicker wire or skewers with floral tape.

Shape options and Assortment

Each listing shows the shapes available in the specific color. You can order each, sets of 6 or more. When "Assortment" is listed that means you want a variety of shapes; simply list the shapes you want or I will select a nice variety of flowers for you (please order leaves seperate). Obviously, you will need to order more than one flower to select an "Assortment".

Custom and personalized orders

Most items are made to order, so I can generally work your special request right into my work schedule. If you need a certain color combination, different color center, etc. simply send me a message and I'll do my best to meet your needs.

I like a shape, but don't see it in the color I want, can you make it?

Most likely, yes! I can most make any color in any shape shown (and more). Be aware, however, that glass is limited to colors the manufactures make; we can't "mix" colors like paint. Just message me with what you would like and I'll see what I can do

These look fragile! Do they break easy?

These little beauties are TOUGH! They look dainty, but they are not!

Want to have a little WOW & CHUCKLE? watch my quick YouTube video and see... https://youtube.com/shorts/AEiVnWim_ak?si=PZE0O23lAKf0drRu

These go right from the torch into a digitally controlled kiln for proper annealing. Although they look fragile and dainty - THEY ARE TOUGH! You can literally hammer them against a table and (should) not break. I drop them on concrete without problems (usually). They are hardened glass, but, yes, they are still glass, so I recommend treating them as a glass item.

Can I use these for jewelry?

Absolutely, they are beautiful components and make amazing jewelry designs! They have been properly annealed and are very tough - will take a beating (even though they look fragile - they're not! Wires are easily cut with wire cutters. They are made of annealed glass and stainless steel, which has a low allergy level. I do suggest, however, to take care in manipulating the wire next to the glass as that is the fragile point.

Care instructions

Simply gently wash with luke-warm water and a little Dawn and soft brush if needed

Can I put them outside...will these fade in sunlight?

They will thrive in any condition - inside or out; full sun as well as inside shade! These are made from colored glass - they will NEVER fade. You can put them outside; however, they may not enjoy a summer hailstorm or winter blizzard.

How do I use these in a taller vase?

I have created a picture tutorial (as a listing) to show images of how to create a bouquet; I also have a video on YouTube "Stained Glass and Beads" or copy and paste this video link: https://youtu.be/4DMZNKrMELE
