Meet the Maker
I live in a rural area with my husband, surrounded by woodland, meadows, and wildlife. I believe that when we are in contact with beautiful things such as the natural world, our thoughts turn to positive and uplifting ideas. I try to put some of the appreciation I feel for the world around me into my cards. Creating them is one of the greatest enjoyments of my life, and I also like to inject a bit of whimsy and fantasy into my work with fairies, trolls, and wizards. I am thankful every day for my husband and son and the world around me.
How it’s Made
I have always had a great love for flowers and seeing butterflies flitting around them has always been a treat for me. I have a small rose garden and have drawn inspiration from that for this card. I have always believed that adding some beauty, joy, and happiness to the world is important, and I try to do this with my art.
After working on a sketch until I feel it's as perfect as possible, I transfer the design onto Bristol board and get out my acrylic paints. I never hurry, but work at a pace that will allow me to get the painting as perfect as I can. I really do enjoy creating t the artwork I use in my cards and I hope this is reflected in the card itself.
