This glass & crystal Russian leaf pendant features a wire-wrapped, pear-shaped lemon-quartz faceted crystal hanging from the center of a distinctive leaf design. This pendant hangs from a black 17-inch nylon cord that has a 2-inch extender chain for added length if desired. The pendant itself measures 2 1/4 inches. The body of the leaf shape is hand stitched with all glass beads in coordinating shades of green. Perfect for Earth Day!

How it’s Made
I love making Russian leaf pendants and will carry many more colors and styles of this unique piece of jewelry as they become available. The total time to create one of these beautiful pendants is close to 1 1/2 hours, enabling me to create lots of them in a relatively short amount of time.
The Russian Leaf beadwork technique has a fascinating history and has become a coveted part of the world of beadwork and jewelry making. The technique was originally developed in Russia and has a significant heritage in the craft.
The name "Russian leaf" refers to the shape of the pattern, which resembles a leaf, and the technique uses small seed beads to create this distinctive pattern. A distinctive feature of the Russian leaf technique is the use of different sizes and colors of beads that work together to create depth and texture.
Historically, the Russian leaf technique was used to create beautiful and detailed decorations on clothing, especially on tradition Russian costumes. It was not only an artistic expression, but also a way to convey cultural symbols and identity through handmade pieces.

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW:
Most, if not all, of my pieces are made with glass beads that can be easily broken or chipped.
Please be mindful to avoid dropping your jewelry or knocking it against hard surfaces as I use glass beads in most all of my work and are breakable.
My jewelry sets are sold as sets. If you do not wear earrings, they can make beautiful & thoughtful gifts!
Silver metal components can tarnish over time, or when exposed for long periods of time to the elements. I provide complimentary anti-tarnish tabs and cleaning cloths in all orders to help keep your silver components looking like new. Please know none of my metal components are treated in any way to prevent common discoloration.
