How it’s Made
Our birdhouses are inspired by the Grudgins legend: a blacksmith who made birdhouses for his son during tough times, starting a tradition of gifting a Grudgins Birdhouse to newlyweds and new arrivals. I found an old book about these birdhouses and now recreate them just as they were made back then.
We use recycled materials, like burnt wood—which birds love because it helps repel parasites—driftwood from the Falls of the Ohio, and pallet wood. Even the hardware, like drawer pulls, comes from donated or repurposed items.
Best of all, 10% of every dollar goes to TheOneRescues.org, my brother Pastor Lee West’s ministry, which rescues children from slavery and exploitation. It’s our way of creating something beautiful while giving back.
