This one-of-a-kind natural clock is fashioned from a thick slab of cherry burl. Echoing the shape of formal mantle clocks but in more modern organic cherry burl with live edge. The focal point of any mantle.
I’ve often taken notice of these amazing rustic fireplaces & mantles that have clocks that look way too formal, so I design this.
Thick, solid and weighty. Finished with hand-rubbed Danish oil and a final satin poly finish.
The clock face is “Heirloom Style” with quality quartz mechanism and a 5.25” diameter.

How it’s Made
“Burl” is unique formations, often hidden beneath the bark, has become highly prized for their intricate patterns and rich colors. These unique patterns make each piece of burl wood distinct, and the natural variations ensure that no two pieces are identical.
Cherry burl is one of the most beautiful. I seek out burl primarily from the Northeast US. I mill it, dry it, and stabilize it. The unique pits and void are filled with dark epoxy resin and the surface is finished to a smooth satin finish.
