How it’s Made
Each flag starts by gluing up a panel made of Pine in the appropriate size. After the glue is dried, voids are filled and the panel is sanded front and back and is cut round. Then a mask is added to assist in the painting process. The flag then makes its first trip to the CNC where the outline is carved and Painted. After dried, an additional mask layer is added and the rest of the design is carved. Red and blue stain is applied to the appropriate areas. Once the stain is dried, all remaining masking is removed and and the front is sanded to clean up the design. The front and back of the flag are now torched and sanded again to add a little distressing. Masking gets added to the back of the flag now and it goes back to the CNC a third time for the product label and a personalized message (if selected) to be carved and painted. After drying, the mask is removed and a keyhole slot gets added to enable hanging. Finally 3 coats of a UV protected finish gets added to the front and back and the flag is left to cure for 48 hrs before it is packed up and shipped to its new home.
