Incisive Design

Meet the Maker
Incisive Design started when I created my freelance Graphic Design business 20 years ago. I was fresh out of college and eager to do some extra design work for clients outside of my traditional design career. I have always enjoyed making and building things ever since I was at a young age. Building has always been in my blood. That passion took a new form when I inherited my grandfather's woodworking tools. I have fond memories of helping him in his shop as a child, watching him work and dreaming of creating things myself.
As I began a new life with my wife and family, it led to more fixer-upper projects and building furniture. Later, I inherited more tools from my father-in-law, a contractor and experienced woodworker. Some of my most cherished memories are of building projects with him in his shop. Now, using those tools connects me to those special times. Every tool I own, passed down from loved ones, brings me joy and peace as I create in my own shop.
Whether it be woodworking or graphic design, I require precision in all that I do, which in turn creates good design. I like to keep it simple. That incisiveness makes me happy—to know it was done correctly and with great attention to detail.
When you purchase something from Incisive Design, know that it was made with care and joy. I hope it brings you joy, as well.

How it’s Made
The succulent planters are handcrafted by me alone in my garage shop in San Antonio, TX. I purchase FSC-certified Douglas Fir & Whitewood for these and create them with joy and precision.
NOTE:
I apply oil/varnish to all stains to enhance the beauty of the wood while giving it lifelong protection. This takes about 3 days to cure, so processing orders typically takes 1 - 3 days.
Due to the natural variations in the material, each piece features its own distinct color and texture, ensuring that no two are exactly alike.
