Meet the Maker
I create durable one of a kind crocheted rag rugs by up-cycling clean vintage fabrics that may be machine washed. Rag rugs are my creative passion. I take the time to do my very best work with each and every one, paying close attention to detail because I like all transactions to be honest and fair whether I am buying or selling. Trying to do my small part in not adding more fabrics to our earths landfills and oceans. I work with 100% reclaimed, recycle cotton/poly blend fabrics that are available to me in my area of southern Missouri. This is one of the creative skills that has been passed down from generation to generation.
How it’s Made
I scout for used fabrics that have a content of cotton, hot wash and dry, remove hems, fold and hand cut into strips with scissors. Then I machine sew the strips end to end and across again with a top seam to ensure durability. As I crochet into a rug I fold the seam area inward out of view. Beginning and end of strips are woven into the rug then hand sewn so they will not come loose when washed. I pay close attention to details because I want your buying experience from me to be top of the line positive!
