About this Product

Hanafukin, or flower cloth, is a traditional Japanese sashiko-stitched cloth used as a decorative kitchen cloth or dish towel. This mini version is a perfect fashion add-on for your jackets, as a small handkerchief for those who do not always carry a purse. It can also be used as a placement mat at home or when serving your teatime dessert.

Our hanafukin is made with double layers of sarashi, a Japanese cotton fabric similar to muslin cloth. They are hand-embroidered and are surprisingly tough and durable, perfect for everyday use.

Another beautiful aspect of this type of cloth is the attention to the backside, which can create a similar or completely different pattern to the front, depending on the method and design used, making it a reversible cloth.

Available in limited quantities due to the limited materials, each item is perfectly imperfect, with no two exactly alike.
