Types of colorants used vary from skin safe micas to completely natural in both soaps, bath salts, and bath bombs. All Collector Artisan Soaps and Bath items are comprised of: Organic ingredients {when available} Not every single ingredient is organic. All soaps are great for sensitive skin, except for exfoliating bars. Made when ordered can also be unscented for facial use. Facial bars are unscented or created specifically for the face in all cases. Most items are vegan unless they have beeswax, milk, or honey. All ingredients are listed but feel free to message me if unsure. High quality skin loving oils and butters are used in every bath and body creation. I order raw materials from quality suppliers. We use all our soaps ourselves!My Cold process recipe includes Cocoa Butter in every loaf. I choose to include cocoa butter for its properties thus upping the quality of each bar. Phthalate free fragrance oils or 100% natural essential oils are always used.Skin safe colorants such as micas or natural colorants such as turmeric or activated charcoal, for example, are used in different soaps.Eco Friendly Biodegradable Glitter whenever glitter is used. Fragrance and essential oils, sometimes a blend of both, are used in scented soaps. They are all Phthalate free. Just like anything else, not all handmade soaps are created equal. Here is a bit about handmade, from scratch, soaps. Soap is technically a byproduct of a chemical reaction between fat and lye. Take away one or the other and you no longer have soap. Many commercial bars aren’t even technically soap. They are bars that use chemical detergents to cleanse your skin. In fact, many of them are too effective, and will actually strip your skin of its natural oils and leave it feeling dry and tight after use. This is done by large commercial companies for two reasons. One it is cheaper to make bars this way. This also creates (or increases) the need for lotion or other moisturizers to counteract the way your skin feels after using the detergent based bar. Our soap retains all the glycerin that is a natural byproduct of the soap making process and that combined with the skin loving oils and butters in our recipes create a bar that is gentle and cleansing but doesn’t strip your skin of it’s natural oils.At WithMyHandsAndHeart♡ we are passionate about making soap as well as bath and body products with the highest quality ingredients. Be careful, good soap can become an addiction! It has for me... ♡ Some remember their grandparents making soap the old-fashioned way and that it was also a harsh experience. This is also due to the quality of ingredients. It was common at that time to make your own lye, which wasn’t always the same strength. If the ratio of lye and oils is off by even a tiny amount the finished product could have some lye in it, which is a caustic ingredient, and not good for your skin. Well-made handmade soap will always ensure there is an extra amount of oils to react with 100% of the lye to ensure it has completely transformed the oils into soap.
