As with all ceramic products this cassarole must be handled carefully. Although hire-fired for added durability, pottery is prone to cracks if dropped or knocked. Microwave and dishwasher safe, but gentle handwashing is recommended. Avoid temperature shock by heating things slowly, evenly and carefully.

How it’s Made
Toasty brown stoneware is formed ‘thrown’ on my potter’s wheel. The top edge is altered and two handles are rolled out from rounds of clay and attached to the pot when the clay has reached a stiff ‘leatherhard’ stage. When completely dry the pot is fired first to cone 06 (approximately 1830 degrees) in my electric kiln. After completely cooled it is then glazed…sometimes dipped, sometimes brushed, occasionally sprayed, maybe all three! Fired again to cone 6 (approximately 2,232 degrees)
