Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.
How it’s Made
This jar is hand-built from clay and textured with patterned rollers for extra detail before being shaped into its classic apothecary form. The label is applied with a custom ceramic transfer and fired directly into the glaze so it becomes a permanent part of the surface. Layers of green and cream glaze create the oozy, otherworldly finish. It’s bisque-fired first, then glaze-fired to over 2300°F for durability. The jar is topped with a natural cork lid to complete the vintage apothecary look.
