Meet the Maker
Welcome to Obiandoli (say OH bee AN doe lee), which is a combination of my parents' surnames. I thought it was a good choice for my shop name, since my parents were directly responsible for my love of fabrics and sewing. They started a remnant shop in 1950 that quickly became the largest fabric store in northern NJ - so I literally grew up with fine, quality fabrics and learned to sew when I was about 9 years old. Trust me, that's a LOT of sewing years!
I moved from sewing clothing to creating handbags many years ago, and when Etsy came along...well, it was a no-brainer for me. My first Etsy handbag shop, LauraOhDesigns, opened in 2008. I'm honored that one of my original bags, under that label, was featured in Seaside Home, published by Stash Books in 2012. I closed LauraOhDesigns a few years later to tend to family and relocation. A few years ago, I inherited the sample books and swatch samples from my brother's designer showroom, so I started using them to make the artisan patch bags and others, and Obiandoli Artisan Bags was launched.
In the last 5-6 years, I've also been making creative journals and notebooks, also using the fabric scraps, as well as papers, wallpapers - even window shade scrap samples! I maintained separate shops on Etsy for those items (Write Pretty Designs and Justified Junque) but truthfully, managing multiple shops became a bit much, especially on Etsy.
When I found Goimagine - I knew I had to be part of this amazing site. It's taken me a while to figure out the logistics of combining Etsy shops (some of it worked, and some didn't) but we're on track now. I'm still going to have two shops here - but that's OK. More on that later.

How it’s Made
Introducing my Half-Pint Journals! The pages for these little journals are made from half of an 8.5 x 11 page; so they are half the size of the normal one-page-folded-in- half journals - i.e. half-pints! They measures approx. 5.5 x 4.25 inches.
The cover is constructed from a heavy-duty file folder. Both front and back inside covers have side pockets, perfect for storing notes, cards, and other keepsakes. The cover images are usually layered with stitching and some fabric bits for depth and dimension, which also provides added strength to the cover.
Signatures are machine-stitched to the spine, and the spine covered with coordinating fabric for extra strength.
These journals lay flat when you are writing in them. Some will be embellished; others are plain and ready to use as is, or you can decorate any way you'd like.

Many of my items are ready to ship; some notebooks and cards are printed by me when you place your order. I have limited storage space for stock so this works best for me. Please read the descriptions, sizes, and other details in the listing before you purchase. Returns or exchanges are accepted within 7 days of buyer notifying me. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs. Items must be in original condition and free from soil or odors. Refunds will be issued once item has been received.
