About this Product

Are you looking for a little somethin' somethin' that's literally just kinda small-not as small as a bowl filler, but not full-blown pillow size? I have your solution! This little sunflower is just right to fill a space on your guest room nightstand propped against a stack of upcycled books or a riser filled with little needful things in front of a reading lamp. Measuring approx. 5"T X 5"W (+/- 1/2") it's crafted from grain sack fabric. The sunflower is created from backing of grain sack fabric and a vintage mustardy yellow 100% wool blanket. The middle of the sunny features 1800's brown calico layered with more rain sack and hand sewn tiny black buttons to resemble seeds. All are appliqued to the pillow front. I purchased an extra small wooden crow that I then painted and drilled to create buttonholes and sewed him right on up onto the pillow above the sunflower-I think he might be hungry and is coming in for a landing to gobble up those seeds. No, really! I've finished the back of the small pillow with a patch made from the same old wool blanket and a hand painted wooden button. I do hope you like it as much as I do. I have so much fun when I'm creating-the antique and vintage materials, and especially the trimming I carefully create always tell me stories and sometimes I just have to share my silliness with my customers so you too can be entertained by them.

All of my items are available across multiple platforms and are sold first come, first served. Please consider that these are created from ANTIQUE/Vintage materials, so I cannot just order more fabric from the quilt shop or a catalog-when the amount I have on hand runs out, it is GONE! If you love this item, best to make your purchase when you see it to avoid disappointment!

Fabric/quilts/trimmings with an indication of "vintage" or "antique" are NOT new; therefore, they may have wear, uneven color, small holes, and other age-appropriate imperfections. I make every effort to use the best parts of any fabrics, but they are seldom pristine. All of my fabric items are sewn completely around and a slot is cut into the backing piece, which is NEW fabric, for turning and stuffing. When you see a hand stitched seam on the back, it is deliberate, not a flaw. By creating my pieces this way, I can achieve better more accurate shapes than I would by hand sewing shut a curve or corner. ~B~
