About this Product
**ITEM SOLD -- but you can commission a similar one, normal turnaround 4-6 weeks
This handmade deviled egg platter was made from a slab of stoneware clay which was altered by hand using a drape form to create the egg shapes, then cut out with a fancy edge. After bisque-firing, it was glazed and fired again to cone 6. This stoneware piece is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.
Approximate size: 15.5" x 12"
(CARE: avoid thermal shock damage which can occur when stoneware is allowed to change in temperature suddenly; for example, do not put a cool or cold stoneware piece into a hot oven – place room-temperature stoneware in oven prior to preheating; also allow stoneware to cool some before removing from oven and do not place on a cool or cold surface.)
PLEASE NOTE: Every monitor and phone screen displays colors differently, so colors may vary slightly in person.
My Creation Place
Meet the Maker
Hello, and thank you for exploring my shop!
My name is Christine Donovan, and I was the owner/operator of a paint-your-own-pottery studio from June 2019 through June 2024, when I decided to transition to a home studio and focus on hand building pottery pieces from slabs of clay, using mostly stoneware clays. In addition, I've dabbled in resin art for a few years. Previously, I spent my career of over 20 years in the trust and investment management business.
My home studio is my happy place, where I can create pieces that I imagine, or that my customers commission me to make. This online shop ~ My Creation Place ~ is where I display these items for sale, in the hopes that others find them as beautiful and useful as I imagine them to be! I love the idea that somewhere, in a home I will never visit, a family will gather -- and a piece that I made will be there, appreciated by strangers. That makes me happy, too. I most enjoy making custom pieces requested by family, friends and studio customers -- and along the way, I make pieces just because I feel like it. Feel free to reach out if you have an idea for a custom piece, and I will design with you and make the piece within 4 to 6 weeks (it takes a long time for clay to dry enough to be bisque fired successfully, and then will need to be glazed and fired again).
Check out my paint-your-own-pottery studio page on Instagram (@thecreationplace) to watch past live stoneware kiln unloadings, to see examples of pieces I've made (in addition to pieces my customers have glazed). There are so many glazes and shapes, the possibilities are truly endless!
Shop Policies
Processing: I do my best to ship your pieces as soon as possible, but no later than 3 days from the date of the order. (If the product is a custom order for stoneware pottery, that can take 4 to 6 weeks for hand build, drying, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing.)
Please understand that all sales are final.
For the care of stoneware pottery I've made, first know that glazes on food surfaces are food safe. Stoneware can be used in the microwave and oven (to avoid damage from thermal shock caused by a rapid change in ware temperature, always start room-temperature bakeware in an un-preheated oven, and do not remove from oven immediately and place on cool or cold surface; also, very hot or boiling liquid should not be poured into a stoneware piece without preheating the piece first), and dishwasher use is okay too, though over time may aesthetically impact the glaze surface.
Shipping to the continental US is included. If you have a need for non-continental-US shipping, please contact me to arrange and determine additional cost -- note: the goimagine platform is currently limited to US buyers.
Please note: we recycle whenever possible, so your shipment may arrive in a re-used box from any source, including another shipper.
