About this Product
These are based on three of the costumes Maria wears in the 1965 Sound of Music movie. They all close in back with an invisible zipper. Blouses and aprons are separate pieces (included in this price). Contact us for the upcharge if you want functional buttons instead of zippers, or a lace up bodice for the "lake" dress. Three options are available in this listing:
1) The brown cotton "DoReMi" dress has a fully lined bodice and a very full dirndl skirt. It has false buttons in front and an invisible zipper in back. For a $25 upcharge, we can do functional front buttons instead. The cotton blouse underneath is a separate piece with a front button closure and elastic cuffs.
2) Maria's black cotton novice habit. The bodice is fully lined with an invisible zipper in back. There are false buttons in front. $25 upcharge for functional front buttons. The striped cotton apron has big front patch pockets. it closes in back with a skirt hook, and snaps on to the dress at the "bib" top.
3) Maria's "lake dress". She wears this around Salzburg, and later falls into the lake. It has a cotton peachy-khaki lined bodice with a very full gray dirndl skirt. It has an invisible back zipper. Contact us for an upcharge if you prefer a separate lace up bodice instead of one piece with a zipper. The white blouse has an invisible back zipper, lace at the neck, and elastic ruffle cuffs

We tend to keep some sizes on the rack, but most items are custom made to your measurements. This is not a mom sewing in her craft room. We are a group of seven artisans working in a pet free, smoke free professional costume shop in St Paul.

Sheila is the owner, shop manager, and head draper (pattern maker). Six other talented artisans cut, sew, fit, and build incredible creations. We all have college level education and decades of experience making costumes. These are not cheap Halloween costumes made in a factory. Your costume will not be made by a mom in her craft room! How it’s Made
We make our own patterns to the measurements you send, though these are so popular that we often make some sizes ahead of time.
All our costumes are made by skilled artisans who are paid a living wage. We work in a smoke free, pet free costume shop in St Paul. We make everything from this show, in all sizes from infants to 4x +. 10% discount for children's sizes (under 5').
Shop Policies
Ready made items can be returned for a refund with no extra charges. Buyer is responsible for return shipping cost. Custom orders cannot be refunded, but we offer free alterations to be sure you get the best possible fit.
