Spill the Tea Tea Cup

This rose-painted porcelain teacup reveals swirling patterns when filled with warm liquid, as if listening for secrets.

Once per day, while attuned, you can speak the command phrase “Spill the tea” and choose one of the following effects:

• Gossip’s Whisper: For 10 minutes, you magically overhear nearby rumors and secrets, as if under clairvoyance, but only for gossip within 1 mile.

• Truth Unveiled: Cast Zone of Truth (DC 15), flavored as a polite tea party where participants often confess trivial secrets alongside their answers.

• Sip of Insight: As a bonus action, drink from the cup to cast Detect Thoughts (DC 15), but you can only sense what the target is gossiping about or hiding.

Optional Quirk: Each time you use the cup, there’s a 10% chance one of your own secrets finds its way into the local rumor mill.

Meet the Maker

With backgrounds in fine art and a shared love of RPG games, my mom, sister and I channel our passion and creativity into every piece we craft. Our fine art degrees have honed our skills and attention to detail, allowing us to create unique, handcrafted items that stand out. From one-of-a-kind hand-poured resin dice and bespoke magic items made from thrifted objects to versatile potion bottles and meticulously sculpted Dice Guardians, we pour our hearts into every creation. Each piece at Potion Dice Emporium reflects our dedication to quality and artistry, as we strive to bring a touch of fantasy and wonder to fellow adventurers.

How it’s Made

All of my dice are crafted from resin. I hand-pour the resin and add various alcohol inks and mica powders to create beautiful effects. My shell-type dice may include inclusions such as paper butterflies, moss, flowers, etc., and some have the inner shell wrapped in Washi tape. These dice are made using a double casting method (which requires two separate rounds in a pressure pot for 24 hours each): first, the inner dice are cast and a pattern or inclusion is applied, then a second casting of clear resin is done around the insert. The dice are then placed in a pressure pot for 24 hours to remove any bubbles. After curing for a few days, I sand off the excess resin. The dice are then polished in a tumbler with a polishing compound to give them a shine. They are cleaned with soap and water, and then prepared for inking. I hand ink each die, usually in a complementary color, using acrylic inks. Finally, they are polished by hand one last time.
