Meet the Maker

Welcome to Dragon Fly Lanez! I started making Resin crafts almost one year ago and Diamond Art about two years ago and I LOVE IT! I also have fallen in love with making Resin Tumblers and Snowglobe Tumblers... It's not work if you love what you do... I would LOVE to share my joy with everyone else!

All Resin you see is handmade by me. Pieces are sold as is, BUT... can be customized to match your requests and/or your imagination... I use mica powder, opaque pigment, alcohol ink, glitter, shells… Items can be made into magnets, keychains and even pendants, ask and I'll see what I can do for you! Creations can be made for favors, christenings, baby showers/gender reveals, birthdays, house warming gifts, etc... (If you are interested in buying items in bulk please contact me for separate pricing.)

THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW: SINCE THAT GREETING I HAVE HAD A HOUSE FIRE, HAD A HEART ATTACK & LOST EVERYTHING. I AM SLOWLY RE-BUILDING MY BUSINESS UP AGAIN, I HOPE YOU STICK AROUND TO SEE THE OUTCOME. IF YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED, SINCE WE ARE STARTING FRESH I HAVE RENAMED THE BUSINESS TO DRAGON FLY LANEZ... I AM VERY EXCITED TO SHARE THIS JOURNEY WITH YOU!!!

Let’s have some fun, come see what I have to offer, and we can work on getting you your own creation(s).

How it’s Made

HOW TO MAKE UV STAINLESS STEEL INLAY RINGS

Step 1: Clean Your Ring Channel

Take your ring and clean it with acetone, nail polish remover, or other strong solvent to remove any existing wax or oils. Make sure you clean the groove to prepare it for inlay materials.

Step 2: Prepare for Pigment

Clean any dust off with denatured alcohol.

 Step 3: Paint the Channel

Dip your brush or instrument into your mica powder, resin, or gel polish, whatever you choose.  Dip your brush into whatever you are using for the ring channel.

Step 4: A Magnifying Visor Can Help

While not critical, a magnifying visor helps you see the inlay process more closely. I like the kind that has interchangeable lenses with different magnifications; this style allows for two lenses to be installed and flipped up and down for a closer look when needed. This visor works with my readers, too.

Step 5: Apply Resin Into the Channel

I love using crystal clear hard UV Resin, it cures in seconds using a special UV Light. I like to use the ones like in the nail salon! Sometimes I use a syringe to accurately dispense the resin.

Step 6: Setting the Resin With UV

The UV light cures the resin very quickly; confirm hardness with a thumbnail check. For a little extra curing insurance, IF it is sunny outside, set the ring in direct sunlight for 10 minutes or so. Sunlight has the broadest spectrum of light and is the best source for curing any UV resin.

Step 7: Polish and Buff

With a Dremel, polish the inside and outside of the rim with red rouge and buffing wheels, then white diamond polishing compound, then a dry buffing for a final cleaning.

 ENJOY!!
