How long does it take to complete the project?
- Generally, the project takes 4 to 6 hours to complete. It depends on how quickly you choose to work. Often, our string artists hammer the nails in on Saturday and string up their masterpiece on Sunday.
Do I need any additional tools or supplies?
- Yes, you will need a hammer to complete this kit. A hammer is not included in the string art kit.
How challenging is this art project?
- The Sunflower String Art Kit is more challenging than some of our kits, but it is not the most challenging. This is due to the nail spacing, color changes, and stringing pattern in the center.
Keep in mind that the kit is designed for a beginner to complete, but it is more challenging than several of our other kits.
Can beginners do this project?
- YES! We know everyone is brand new to string art. That is why Lawrence has written the instructions for first-time string artists can make this sunflower look better than his.
Is the string of high quality?
- Yes, the most expensive embroidery floss from France is included in the kit. The floss is made up of 6 individual strands. Don't separate them and be careful that they don't get caught on a nail.
Are the instructions easy to follow?
- Yes! The instructions include descriptions and visual diagrams of every step. There is even a video on YouTube you can watch by scanning the QR-Code in the instructions booklet.

Meet the Maker
I did not set out to be an artist, but life has a way of leading you to your path.
Pursuing the study of law, I achieved a Juris Doctorate degree. While spending months, and then years, studying for the grueling bar exam I turned to art to express my love of form and logic. The bar exam usually leads to the practice of law, but for me it has led to reconnecting with art. I am dyslexic which has created a hurdle in passing the bar exam but has given me the gift of creating intricate detailed art pieces. Each time I did not pass the exam I returned to my art, perfecting my designs and ideas.
I design each string art kit. I'll choose bright, bold colors of embroidery floss for the patterns, wired nails, and stained woods to enhance the details of each piece. My DIY kits are created for beginners and expert crafters. I also create and sell all of the designs finished/made to order.

How it’s Made
The pine wood is brought to me in long raw boards. I cut the wood to size, sand all the sides smooth to the touch, and then stain it. The string is rolled out and measured by hand as well. After printing the instructions and putting the nails in their bags, I fold the box and place all the supplies inside it. When an order comes in I package the kit inside a poly mailer bag and ship it off to you!
