The pain is so great when we lose someone that we love so much. After losing my Mum when listening to the line of an Ed Sheeran song that said "A heart that's broke is a heart that's been loved" I remember having the revelation that even though the pain was so intense, the redeeming factor of that pain was that it was because of that great love between us that I felt that way. A small consolation, but still a consolation, despite the very sad thing that had happened. Having things to hold on to in grief that are positive, no matter how small make a difference.

Meet the Maker
Hello! I'm Chantal, I have been a Graphic Designer for years but had always wanted to make my own cards that expressed the sentiments I couldn't quite find in the shops. I would spend a really long time picking out just the right card for one of my loved ones but had a longing to just try making them for myself.
This year I turned 40, I thought as I've always loved cards and wanted to try my hand at making my own ones and share them with others, that this would be a significant year to start.
I started with some expressing tenderness to people who were grieving (as I lost my Mum to cancer 4 years ago, she was the one who would sit and paint with my brother and I as young children at home and encourage us in our art).
I then decided to do a range of different subjects that meant something to me and also have some scripture/Christian themed cards in my shop as my faith is at my core.
I don’t like licking envelopes because they taste yucky, so I thought I’d make some stickers to go with the cards that expressed love or self care messages too. I want the recipients of the cards to pop the kettle on, grab a cup of tea/coffee (something comforting) and take a moment to rest and read their card from their loved one telling them - "they’re seen, they’re not alone and they are so loved".
I'm originally from the UK but have been living in the US for 7 years now - so that's why you'll probably notice my spelling - hope this doesn’t offend you! And I love to bake, sugar is my love language.
