About this Product
These memory quilts are the perfect way to preserve your favorite clothes into a long lasting tangible memory.
This listing is for a DEPOSIT for a T-Shirt Quilt (15" blocks of clothes). When your quilt is completed I will create a custom listing for you of the total, + exact shipping (and taxes if applicable).
All quilts are pieced with 100% cotton fabric, and a 100% cotton lining. I use a polyester batting, but can upgrade you to a 80/20 cotton/poly batting for $0.30 per linear inch (example, a twin quilt would cost $21 extra to upgrade to cotton batting. You are welcome to message me for a quote).

Once you purchase this deposit I will email you a PDF with all of the information you need to proceed. It discusses what type of clothes work well, the differences between memory quilts and my T-shirt quilts, and how to pick between them. If you place a deposit for a memory quilt and would prefer a T-shirt quilt, just let me know you can switch with no extra work on your part. The PDF also includes my address to ship your clothing.
I craft all my memory and T-Shirt quilts very carefully, without stabilizer, to preserve the softness of the shirt/clothing, and keep costs down for you. I quilt all quilts on my long arm quilting machine, and hand guide it so that I can swerve around buttons, pockets, zippers, etc.
A refund of your deposit is available up until I receive your box of clothing.
My turn around time is typically 3-6 months. I keep a constant stream of orders. If you need it by a certain time, or are just curious when you can expect your quilt to be finished, please message me before purchasing. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.
Thanks so much!

Meet the Maker
Hello! I'm Shaina. I married my high school sweetheart, and we have 5 daughters together. I was raised in my grama's and mothers quilt shop in the heart of eastern KY, and I have a huge heart for music. I love reading (and would love to write a book someday), and I strive to help preserve the Appalachian culture.
I adore the color teal, hot coffee, and good books. I abhor celery.
How it’s Made
My T-Shirt quilts are made with lots of love and care. I'm a one woman business, so I can be a bit slow, but I promise to take extremely careful detail to your clothes.
I cut all clothes out carefully, to a 15" size. If you want specific parts of the clothes included, I can typically do that. I can include pockets, buttons, etc.
I will be in close contact with you to choose the fabric that goes around your clothing in the quilt. I use sashes (the fabric that touches the shirt), corner squares (the fabric at the corners of the clothes), and a border that goes all the way around the quilt. When you have decided colors you like, I'll photograph what I have on hand (or in a store if I don't have any on hand), and send you those photos. Together we'll choose the colors you'd like.
Once your choices are made, I will carefully piece the quilt on my sewing machine, then when it's finished I will load it into my long arm quilting machine. I carefully quilt it, using either a overall meander or overall loopy meander, by hand guiding my long arm around the quilt. When it's quilted, I remove it, trim it, and then add binding around the entire quilt to lock in the edges.
A lot of t-shirt quilts, or memory quilts, you see online are not actually quilts -they're more like a blanket, or a pillowcase, and they do not hold up well over time. My memory quilts are all finished exactly like actual quilts, and with care, will last a long, long time.
