Tall Utah Celery Seeds:
Tall Utah Celery is a disease-resistant heirloom that dates back to the '50s. One of our favorite things about this variety is that the stalks are stringless, so there is little prep work when it's being utilized in the kitchen. If you have never tried homegrown celery, Tall Utah Celery is a great starter variety that will convert you away from the store-bought stuff.
Each flavor-packed stalk is a medium to dark green with high juice content. When growing this variety you also get a 2 for 1 vegetable since the roots (a.k.a celeriac root) can also be utilized. The root has a more tamed celery flavor with the texture of a turnip or potato. These are a cool-weather crop and are best planted during early spring for a summer harvest or late summer for a fall harvest. Celery thrives in wet soil rich in nutrients.
